Petter Pilesjö (link), Academic Support ; Associate Professor and Director of Lund University’s GIS Centre. Professor Pilesjö has been working with Applied GIS and Remote Sensing in Europe as well as in Africa and South Asia since the early 80’s. He is a Geographer and a Spatial modeler. Areas of special interest are Hydrological modelling, Topographical modelling/interpolation, Coastal planning, Morphology, Remote Sensing and Positioning (including GPS). He has long experience in organising and conducting GIS courses and workshops in Sweden as well as in developing countries. |

Ulrik Mårtensson(link), Executive Consultant Support ; Research Assistant and Teacher in GIS, Dept. of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Analysis, Lund University. Mr. Mårtensson has been with the Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystems Analysis since the beginning of the 80's. He has conducted research on different issues related to land degradation, particularly in North Africa. He has also been very active in the field of international development and has conducted different assignments for the Swedish International Development Agency (Sida), the World Bank and other international developing organizations. |
